Proposed Bylaw Updates

The Mortgage Bankers Association of the Bluegrass is in the process of updating its bylaws to better reflect the current needs of our organization and membership.

We encourage all members to review the proposed updates below. These changes will be presented for a membership vote at our April Luncheon on April 23rd.

Summary of Proposed Updates

The proposed updates are designed to modernize MBAB’s governance and ensure alignment with state and national mortgage banking associations.

Key updates include:

  • Purpose & Structure – Clarifies nonprofit status and alignment

  • Board Governance – Strengthens leadership and ethics standards

  • Membership Standards – Aligns with state and national guidelines

  • Policies & Procedures – Formalizes conflicts and amendments

These changes are intended to enhance transparency, consistency, and long-term sustainability while reinforcing MBAB’s commitment to professionalism and industry best practices.

Membership vote

In accordance with our current bylaws, proposed amendments will be voted on by members in good standing who are present at the April Luncheon on April 23rd.

Approval requires a two-thirds (2/3) vote of members present and voting. If no objections are raised during the vote, the proposed amendments will be approved.

We encourage all members to attend, review the proposed updates in advance, and participate in the voting process.
